We are calling on our local community to support our Coins for the Countess fundraising campaign, with an ambitious goal to collect 600,000 5p coins over the next two years. This milestone will take the total to 1 million coins collected since the campaign first launched in 2020, helping to achieve a financial target of £50,000 raised to support the vital work of the hospice.

The initiative invites individuals and businesses to collect 5p coins in small jars provided by the hospice. So far, the campaign has raised an incredible £20,000, with significant contributions from local businesses, including the Newbury Building Society, which has raised nearly £4,000 since 2020, alongside others such as the Nationwide, HSBC, Longstock Farm Shop, and Waggy’s Coffee Shop.

Our customers love being able to contribute to such a worthy cause and being part of this initiative has been a joy; we really encourage others to get involved!”

With the support of 20 local businesses, the campaign has already made a tremendous impact, but there’s still more to be done. In addition to collecting coins, we are looking for a local business to match-fund the yearly totals, which currently average around £5,000 annually, to help make an even bigger difference.

Individuals: Pick up a jar from the Countess of Brecknock Hospice or one of the businesses listed below and start collecting your spare 5p coins.

Businesses: Get involved by providing jars for customers and even match-funding the annual total raised.
