We are proud to be one of over 143 hospices taking part in the “This is Hospice Care” campaign, a national initiative facilitated by Hospice UK. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the vital role hospices play in communities and to shift public perceptions of hospice care.

The campaign, launching on the 17 February, has already captured hearts and minds through a powerful TV advert based on real life hospice stories. The goal is to encourage people to consider leaving a gift in their will to support their local hospice, ensuring that these essential services can continue to provide their compassionate and specialist care for future generations

“We’re thrilled to be part of this important campaign that not only highlights the critical work the hospice does but also the lasting impact that gifts in wills can have on the charity’s ability to continue to support the hospice to provide care here in Andover and the surrounding area” said Michele Gard, Charity Director.

We encourage local residents to consider the profound impact that a gift in their will can have. Jane’s story is a testament to the compassionate care we provide. Her husband Allan said: “There aren’t really the words to say how incredible the hospice team were. They were always there to help and explain what was happening in a very straightforward way. They really did go above and beyond to look after Jane and make sure her last days were as comfortable as possible.”

In Andover, legacy giving has made a significant difference. Last year, legacy gifts accounted for 20% of the hospice charity’s income, enabling it to help support its clinical teams* to care for nearly 1000 patients and their families in 2024.
