Schools
We are always delighted to work with local schools and colleges in our community and we really value our relationships. By working together, your pupils and students can learn about the importance of hospice care for their family members, their neighbours, and their community. It’s also a great way to promote wellbeing, build confidence and learn new skills. Supporting a charity like ours can be educational and rewarding!
Here are some ways to get involved:
- Invite us to visit your school to give a talk about our hospice and how we support people affected by life-limiting conditions.
- Encourage your students to get involved in one of our fundraising events like our annual Rudolph Run.
- Organise your own fundraising event like a ‘My School’s Got Talent’ or a bake-off competition – we’re always happy to be the judge!
Get in touch and we can have a chat about your idea and how we can help.
Coins for the Countess
Join our Coins for the Countess campaign where every 5p counts!
Our campaign invites our supporters – individuals, community groups and companies – to collect 5p coins in jars provided by the hospice.
“We are so proud to support The Countess of Brecknock Hospice through the Coins for the Countess campaign. It’s such an easy way for individuals and businesses to make a difference, and it’s amazing to see how those small coins add up to provide vital support for such an important local service. Our customers love being able to contribute to such a worthy cause and being part of this initiative has been a joy; we really encourage others to get involved!”
Cliff Osborne, Senior Branch Manager, Newbury Building Society
Thank you to all our Coins for the Countess supporters!
If you would like to get involved, get in touch and we can give you some jars to fill up at home, in your office, or your shop. Why not encourage your customers to donate their spare 5ps!
Trusts & Foundations
Each year The Countess of Brecknock Hospice is very grateful to receive grants from charitable trusts and foundations. Every penny helps us to fund our vital palliative and end-of-life care services which make a lasting difference to patients, families and carers in our community.
Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our catchment area has access to outstanding palliative and end-of-life care. However, we know that we aren’t reaching everyone who needs our help. This is why we need your support.
If you are responsible for managing a trust or foundation and would like to find out about the impact your support could make, please get in touch on 01264 359789 or info@cobh.org.uk.
Donate Clothes
Are you thinking about a wardrobe clear out? Did you know that we have a clothes recycling bin? Why not pop those unwanted clothes into a bag and help raise funds for The Countess of Brecknock Hospice!
Our clothes bank is by the ambulance entrance at the Andover War Memorial Hospital, just next to the entrance of the hospital’s Outpatients Department, about 20 metres from our visitor entrance.
Support Our Appeal
Each year, we run an appeal asking our local community to make a donation to the hospice. By supporting our appeal, you will be helping us deliver our mission of giving our patients the dignity and care they deserve, be that in our Inpatient Unit or in their own homes.
